MANCHESTER, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Mariners Invitational on Tuesday, finishing second overall with a 14-over-par, 294, on the par-70 Augusta Country Club course.
The Eagles trailed only the University of Southern Maine, which claimed the team title with a 286.
Leading the way for Husson was junior Ty Dickson, who fired a steady 1-over, 71, to tie for third place individually in the 41-player field.
Juniors Juan Carlos Hernandez and Bradley Chisholm followed closely, each carding a 74 to share eighth place.
Junior Jace Cook added a 75 to tie for 10th, while freshman Michael Bruce rounded out the lineup with an 80, good for a tie for 20th.
The Eagles will begin their first multi-day tournament of the season on Saturday when they head to Brunswick for the Bowdoin Invitational.
