BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team hosted the 35th annual Husson Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Bangor Municipal Golf Course and placed second in the event as a team.
The Eagles posted a score of 300 (+16) as a team, which was five strokes behind the University of Southern Maine, who won the event with a score of 295 (+11).
Junior Juan Carlos Hernandez topped the Husson scorers with a two-over par, 73, to place tied for sixth, while classmate Ty Dickson finished solo in eighth-place with a three-over par, 74.
Junior Bradley Chisholm ended his day in a tie for ninth-place thanks to a four-over par, 75, while freshman Michael Bruce rounded out the scoring players for Husson's first team with a seven-over par, 78, which was good for a 20th-place tie.
Junior Jace Cook also competed on the top team for the Eagles and placed tied for 25th with a nine-over par, 80.
Husson's second team recorded a ninth-place finish as a team with a 336 (+52), as junior Ellis Spaulding led the second unit with a four-over par, 75, to finish tied for ninth.
Freshman Jacob Towne recorded a 15-over par, 86, in his collegiate debut, while junior Brett Bragdon put together a 16-over par, 87.
Freshman Anderson Clifford posted an additional 16-over par, 87, while senior Reid Kuliga concluded the squad with an 18-over par, 89.
Freshman Chase Farnsworth was one of three individual players for Husson, as he posted a six-over par, 77 to finish tied for 16th.
Senior Nathan Hachey and freshman Logan Timberlake also competed as individuals and posted a 13-over par, 84, and a 16-over par, 87, respectively.
Husson returns to action on Sept. 21 when it competes in the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational at the Waterville Country Club.
