BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University field hockey team, in its third season under head coach Kaitlin Dolloff, is set to defend its Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference title with the release of its 2025 schedule.
The Eagles captured the inaugural conference championship last season with a thrilling penalty stroke victory over Thomas College, in addition to making it to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship game, before falling to Alvernia University.
"We've added a talented and competitive incoming class that will immediately raise the level of our training environment and complement the leadership of our returners," said Dolloff. "We've put together a challenging non-conference slate that will test us early and help prepare us for another competitive Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference run. Every opponent on our schedule presents an opportunity to grow, and we're focused on taking the next step together as we push toward another conference championship. We are excited to get back on the field and compete."
Husson opens its 2025 campaign with a non-conference matchup against Skidmore College, which will be played at Thomas College, on Aug. 30.
After a two-week hiatus, the Eagles will play a back-to-back against two New England Small College Athletic Conference foes, battling Bates College on the road on Sept. 13, before playing their home opener versus Colby College on Sept. 14.
Husson will then hit the road for five-consecutive games, beginning with a midweek trip to Biddeford for a matchup with the University of New England on Sept. 17, then heading south again on Sept. 20 for a date with the University of Southern Maine.
The Eagles will open Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference play on Sept. 23 at the University of Maine at Farmington, before returning to non-conference play on Sept. 27 against Keene State College, while closing the road trip with a rematch of last year's conference title game against Thomas College on Oct. 4.
Husson will enjoy the friendly confines of the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex for four of its next five contests, beginning with a clash against Bowdoin College on Oct. 8.
The Panthers of Plymouth State University come to town on Oct. 11, before a road matchup against Saint Joseph's College of Maine splits up the homestand on Oct. 15.
The Eagles will play their final two Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference contests of the regular season on Oct. 18 and 29 when they battle Farmington and Thomas, before closing out the regular season with a road game against Vermont State University Castleton on Nov. 1.
