| By:

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA revealed its tournament field for the upcoming Division III Softball Tournament starting this Thursday and the Husson University softball team is headed to Winona, Minnesota for the regional round.

Husson recorded its seventh-straight North Atlantic Conference title on Sunday with an 8-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill. The Eagles are in search of their first regional title and have fallen in the regional title series in two of the past four years, in addition to having hosted a regional in 2021 and 2024.

The Eagles will battle the hosts of No. 11 Saint Mary's University (Minn.) in the opening game of the regionals at 12 p.m. EST.

Saint Mary's enters the 2025 tournament field on a 29-game win-streak, while winning the automatic bid of the MIAC over the College of Saint Benedict with a 5-3 win. The Cardinal are making their second-straight NCAA tournament appearance and are hosting their first-ever regional for softball.

DePauw University and Simpson College will meet in the second game of the day at 2:30 p.m. EST.

DePauw is making its 15th NCAA appearance (all since 2007) with a 42-32 postseason record. The Tigers went a perfect 3-0 in the NCAC tournament this past weekend to capture the conference's automatic bid following a thrilling 6-5 win over Denison in the title game.

Simpson is making its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2016 after earning an at-large bid into the tournament. The Storm have surpassed the 30-win plateau this season and have earned wins over three ranked opponents during the season.

Action gets underway in Minnesota on Thursday with Husson's contest scheduled to start at 12 p.m. EST.
