JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The Husson University men's golf team completed the third and final round of play at the 52nd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Championship on Sunday afternoon.
Husson finished 20th in the 24-team field with a team score of 911 (+47) over the three rounds, while Sandhills Community College and Shenandoah University tied for the team championship with a score of 873 (+9).
Individually for the Eagles, graduate student Chris Kauppila led Husson on the Paradise Point Golf Course with a two-over, 74, on the final day to finish at +6 for the tournament.
Classmate Jack King wasn't far behind, recording an identical score of 74 in the final round to finish at +8.
Graduate student Max Woodman recorded a score of 75 (+3) to place as the third-best scorer for the Eagles, while classmate Will Kavanaugh and sophomore Jace Cook finished at +21 for the tournament with Kavanaugh shooting an eight-over, 80, on the final day and Cook recording a 12-over, 84.
The Eagles are back in action this coming weekend at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational in Saratoga Springs, New York for the two-day event.
