BANGOR, Maine – Ian Aldrich, has committed to continue his swimming career with the Husson University men's swimming & diving program.
Aldrich currently competes in high school for the Northern Penobscot swim team in addition to competing for the Canoe City Swim Club [CCSC] out of Old Town, ME.
A fourth place finisher in the 100 back [58.9] at the 2025 Maine Principals Association Class B State Championships, Aldrich has continued to have impressive races throughout the 2025 season, at both the high school and club level [23.5 50 free; 51.49 100 free]. Aldrich has also qualified and competed at the New England YMCA championships in multiple events, with CCSC.
"Ian's talent in the water and ability to swim multiple events, will play a crucial role in adding to the depth and speed for our men's team," said head men's swimming & diving coach Lauren Hoffman. "We are looking forward to having him be a part of our roster next season and excited to welcome Ian to the team.
In addition to Aldrich's achievements in the water, he currently serves as the Battalion Commander of JROTC, a member of the National Honor Society and is a returning captain for his senior year for the Northern Penobscot swim team.
While at Husson, Aldrich plans to study criminal justice.
