BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's swimming & diving team posted a powerful showing on Saturday, picking up several individual victories, relay wins, and top-three finishes against Keene State College and Maine Maritime Academy in a double dual meet, earning a win over Keene State.
Senior Alex Walsh delivered one of the meet's strongest performances, starting with a dominant victory in the 200 freestyle (1:50.94), then adding a win in the 50 freestyle (22.83), and finishing his day by topping the field in the 500 freestyle (5:13.34). Walsh later contributed to the winning 400 freestyle relay.
The men opened the meet with a statement as the A-relay of senior Ryan Emerson, sophomore Jake Perkins, senior Sam Peiser, and senior Brady Hand claimed first place in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.19.
Emerson later picked up a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke (56.40) and added a win in the 200 backstroke (2:07.33).
Hand earned a victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.94) and followed with a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.34).
Senior Brayden Champlin placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:57.99) and later won the 100 freestyle (51.39).
Peiser and freshman Kobe Swett added major contributions, with Peiser taking second in the 100 butterfly(57.99) and Swett winning the 200 butterfly (2:13.14) while also finishing third in the 200 IM (2:12.24).
Husson finished the meet with a commanding win in the 400 freestyle relay, as the all-senior group of Hand, Emerson, Walsh, and Champlin stopped the clock at 3:20.59 to close the day with one of the team's strongest performances.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday when they head to Clark University for a dual meet.
