Football has four offense/special teams members named to CNE all-conference

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Conference of New England announced its postseason awards for football on Wednesday and Husson University football had four offense/special team all-conference selections.

Graduate student Cam Holmes earned first team honors at wide receiver after a stellar final season for the Eagles. Holmes finished with 10 touchdown receptions in 10 games played, which was tied for the second most in a single-season in program history, in addition to ranking tied for second in the CNE this season. Additionally, Holmes totaled 30 receptions for 468 yards to rank third on the Eagles in both categories.

Senior Max Clark was selected to the all-conference second team at quarterback after his second season starting under center for Husson. Clark amassed 172 completed passes, which led the CNE, totaling 2,150 yards and a league-high 23 touchdown passes. During his final season with the Eagles, Clark tallied four games with more than 250 passing yards, including two 300 yards passing games, while also tallying five games with three or more touchdown passes.

Sophomore Mari Montgomery was named to the second team all-conference as a return specialist following a breakout year. Montgomery returned 18 kickoffs for Husson this season for 495 yards and a 27.5 return average. Montgomery ranked fourth in the CNE in total kickoff return yards and second in kickoff return average, while also recording one kickoff return touchdown against Nichols College during the season.

Junior Brett Davis garnered the final all-conference selection on the third team as a utility special teams player. Davis returned eight kickoffs for 165 total yards and a 20.63 return average, while also recording eight total tackles, including seven solo stops, in addition to one fumble recovery on the return defense unit for Husson.
