PORTLAND, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team returned to action on Sunday at the USM Husky Classic in Portland, as junior Juan Carlos Hernandez earned co-medalist honors.
Hernandez finished tied atop the leaderboard with the University of Southern Maine's Jaden Poirier, as both competitors tallied three-under par rounds, which was a career-low round for Hernandez.
As a team, Husson finished in second place with a team score of 296, behind the hosts USM, who posted a combined score of 288.
Behind Hernandez was freshman Michael Bruce, who tallied a one-over par, 73 to finish in a tie for seventh-place, while junior Jace Cook also recorded a top-10 finish with a three-over, 75, to finish tied for 10th.
Juniors Ty Dickson and Bradley Chisholm posted identical scores for the Eagles with a pair of seven-over par, 79s.
Husson returns to play on Saturday as it looks to defend its North Atlantic Conference crown at the Cobleskill Country Club.
