BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's basketball program received its first commitment towards this year's recruiting class, as Meachi Kimble will join the Eagles.
"Meachi is a high energy long athletic wing who can score at all three levels," says head coach Warren Caruso. "He brings a great work ethic and a high level of leadership to our program. We are excited to have him joining us."
Kimble plays at Tampa Prep under head coach Joe Fenlon. He's been a part of the varsity program for four years and last year played a role off the bench for the Terrapins appearing in 24 games. Kimble had a great summer of AAU on SCE Florida playing for Coach Andre Lewis. This summer he averaged 14 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds along with 2.5 steals, shot 45% from the field, 36% from the 3 and 78% from the foul line. This fall, Kimble was named to the Hillsborough County 2026 Top 25 players preseason watchlist.
Off the floor, Kimble is very involved at Tampa Prep. He is a Class Service Officer and part of Future Business Leaders of America. He is Kappa League Club President and a member of the Model UN Club.
Kimble is a high honors student at Tampa Prep who intends to major in computer information systems at Husson.
Husson finished last season at 21-8 winning the North Atlantic Conference regular season and conference tournament titles. The Eagles have won back-to-back NAC titles and 10 out of the last 15 tournaments. They advanced to the NCAA National Tournament losing in the first round to No. 19 WPI 81-71.
