BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's golf team captured the Husson Invitational on Sunday with a five-over par 289 as a team.
Husson edged out the University of Southern Maine who finished second by just one stroke and Colby College who posted a 293 to finish third.
The Eagles B Team finished fourth on the day with a 294, while Southern Maine Community College rounded out the top five with a 307.
Husson was led by graduate student's
Max Woodman and
Will Kavanaugh who each shot two-under par 69's.
Graduate student
Jack King posted a one-over par 72, while sophomore
Bradley Chisholm also shot a 72. Both Woodman and Chisholm competed for the Eagles B Team, while King and Kavanaugh scored for the A Team.
Additionally, sophomore
Ty Dickson who played for the B Team shot a three-over par 74, while sophomore's
Jace Cook and
Juan Carlos Hernandez also shot 74's for the A Team.
Graduate student
Chris Kauppila concluded the A Team's showing with a five-over par 76, while freshman
Noah McLellan shot an eight-over pay 79 for the B Team.
Junior Nate Hachey also played well for the Eagles as part of the C Team, carding a 10-over pay 81, while sophomore
Brett Bragdon posted an 11-over par 82 for the B Team.
Next up for the Eagles is the UMF Invitational on Saturday hosted by the University of Maine Farmington.
