BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team concluded play at the Bowdoin Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Brunswick Golf Club with a fourth-place finish as a group, while graduate student Chris Kauppila placed third individually.
Kauppila earned a top-three finish after he carded a two-over, 74, on the final day of the tournament hosted by Bowdoin College, as Nick McCabe won the tournament with a score of three-under for the two days.
Fellow graduate students Jack King and Will Kavanaugh finished in a tie for 11th after also firing two-over, 74s on Sunday to finish at four-over for the tournament.
Graduate student Max Woodman rounded-out the scoring players for Husson, as he carded a seven-over, 79, in round two, which slotted him in a tie for 35th-place at nine-over for the tournament.
Sophomore Jace Cook duplicated his score from day one, as he concluded his round with an eight-over, 80, which allowed him to finish in a tie for 74th for the tournament.
Tufts University won the tournament as a team, as it combined for a score of 11-over, which was four strokes better than Amherst College.
The Eagles are back in action on Oct. 13 when they look to defend their North Atlantic Conference Championship at Chicopee Country Club in the two-day conference tournament.
