BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team currently sits in second place as a team after day one of the Bowdoin Invitational at the Brunswick Golf Club on Saturday.

Individually for Husson, graduate student Chris Kauppila sits tied atop the leaderboard following a two-under, 70, which places him in a tie with Nick McCabe of Tufts University heading into day two of the event.

Three Eagles are slotted in 10th place after the opening day, as graduate students Jack King, Will Kavanaugh and Max Woodman all fired two-over, 74s to join nine other golfers in 10th-place.

Sophomore Jace Cook is in a tie for 69th-place following his eight-over, 80 in round one at the par 72, 6,627-yard course.

As a team, Husson is three strokes behind Tufts heading into the final day, after the Jumbos shot a collective one-over, 289, as a group.

The final day of the invitational is set to get underway at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
