MANCHESTER, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team put the finishing touches on another tournament victory on Tuesday afternoon, as it captured the team title at the Mariners Invitational, in addition to sophomore Jace Cook winning the tournament individually.

Cook shot an even-par, 70, at the Augusta Country Club to beat out graduate student Jack King and Ben Donahue of the University of New England by one stroke.

King's one-over, 71, earned him a tie for second-place for Husson at the par-70, 6,214-yard course.

Fellow graduate students Will Kavanaugh and Chris Kauppila finished tied for eighth after they each carded six-over, 76s, to round out the scoring players for the Eagles.

Sophomore Juan Carlos Hernandez concluded his day tied for 11th after he fired a seven-over, 77, in the event.

As a team, Husson beat out UNE by 19 strokes with its combined 13-over, 293, as Colby College finished just one stroke behind UNE for second place.

The Eagles are back in action this weekend when they take part in the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Brunswick Country Club, with day one kicking off at 1 p.m.
