WATERVILLE, Maine – The Husson University men's golf team earned its third-straight tournament win to start the year on Sunday, as it won the team-title at the Thomas College Invitational with a combined 23-over, 303.
Graduate student Jack King won the individual title at the Waterville Country Club, as he shot an even, 70, on the afternoon, beating out Jack Burton of the University of Maine at Farmington by two strokes.
Graduate student Max Woodman finished the round in third place after he carded a five-over, 75 on the par 70, 6,327-yard course
Fellow graduate student Chris Kauppila concluded the tournament in a tie for seventh following an eight-over, 78, while classmate Will Kavanaugh shot a 10-over, 80 to come in a tie for 11th.
Sophomore Bradley Chisholm rounded-out Husson's five-player team, as he finished in a tie for 26th with a 15-over, 85.
As a team, the Eagles beat out Maine Maritime Academy by 13 strokes to secure the team championship.
Husson will return to the links on Sunday when they take part in the Husky Invitational at Riverside Golf Course, hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
