BANGOR, Maine – The Husson men's basketball program received its first commitment towards the 2025 recruiting class, as Adam Chaffin from Phoenix, Ariz. has committed to play for the Eagles.
Chaffin is a six-foot, five-inch senior at Trevor Browne High School for Coach Francisco Villa and has been a three-year starter for the Bruins. This summer, Chaffin played AAU for Team Zona under the direction of head coach Malik Saunders.
As a junior, Chaffin averaged 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game and finished last year 3rd in the state in the 6A conference with 99 blocks for the season. As a junior, he set the single season three-point and block record at Trevor Browne with 59 three-pointers and 99 blocks.
Chaffin is 160 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark for his career and has over 100 three-pointers and 100 blocks. He was named an All-Region Second Team selection as a freshman and an All-Region First Team selection for both his sophomore and junior seasons.
"Adam is a high-level shooter at the wing position and at his height, he provides us with good length at the position," said Husson head men's basketball coach Warren Caruso. "He's had a very good high school career, playing in a competitive region in Arizona. We look forward to having him join our program next fall."
Chaffin will join a Husson team that finished last season 23-6, winning the North Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles have won nine out of the last 14 NAC tournaments and three out of the last five. Currently, Husson is 2-5 and will open NAC play on Wednesday against Maine Maritime Academy.
Chaffin plans to major in computer sciences at Husson.
