Men’s golf finishes second at NEIGA championship, King finishes third

BREWSTER, Mass. — The Husson University men's golf team finished tied for second at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship following a second-round 304. 
 
Husson finished tied with Bates College with a 30-over par 606, beating the University of Hartford by one stroke and trailing only NEIGA champion Endicott College who carded a 569. 
 
Graduate student Jack King finished third, shooting an impressive three-under par 169 to finish four-under par for the tournament. 
 
Fellow graduate student Will Kavanaugh posted a top-25 score with a 10-over par 154, climbing 15 spots on the final day, while graduate student Chris Kauppila also climbed 15 spots, finishing 39th with a 13-over par 157. 
 
Additionally, sophomore Jace Cook and graduate student Max Woodman finished tied for the two-day tournament with 16-over par, 160's. 
 
Husson will close out the Fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule on Oct. 28 when it travels to West Hartford, Connecticut for the Battle of Bull's Bridge hosted by Harford at Bull's Bridge Golf Club.
