JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The Husson men's golf team held a cumulative score of 946 (307-324-315), finishing tied for 15th at the 59th Annual Camp Lejeune Championship.
Junior Will Kavanaugh led the Eagles during the three-day tournament finishing in a three-way tie for 59th place after posting a 75 (+3) on Friday followed by an 82 (+10) before shooting a 80 (+8) on Sunday, finishing with a 237. Junior Jack King shot a 239 (78-80-81) to finish tied for 66th place.
Senior Cade Charron (78-86-76), junior Chris Kauppila (76-86-78) and senior Max Woodman (81-76-83) all tied for 70th with an overall score of 240.
Alex Price of No. 2 Christopher Newport University claimed the medalist honors with a three-day total of 208 and No. 6 Guilford College won the 50th Annual championship with a team card of 871 after earning the victory in a two hole low aggregate playoff over No. 9 Oglethorpe University
The Husson men's golf team will be back on the course on April 8th for the first day of the Tim Brown Invitational, host by Skidmore College at the Ballston Spa Country Club in Ballston Spa, N.Y.
