WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference announced its 2023 women's lacrosse preseason coaches' poll on Thursday and Husson University was picked fifth overall.
The Eagles finished with 23 points just short of the University of Maine at Farmington who finished fourth with 24 points.
SUNY Canton was picked as the preseason favorite with 49 points and seven of a possible seven first-place votes followed by Maine Maritime Academy with 38 points and Thomas College with 33 points.
SUNY Poly (20 points) and Northern Vermont University-Lyndon (nine points) earned the final two spots in the preseason poll.
The Eagles open their 2023 season at home on Mar. 4 against Mitchell College 4 p.m.
