Box Score AMBLER, Pa. - The Husson University baseball team's historical season comes to an end after a 12-10 loss to No. 16 Oswego State in a Glenside Regional elimination game at Skip Wilson Field on the campus of Arcadia University. The two teams started the contest on Saturday afternoon but darkness suspended the final two innings to Sunday morning.
The Lakers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning but the Eagles flew back into the contest in the third inning with four runs on five hits. Sophomore Akira Warren started off the inning with an infield single followed by a bunt single by junior Austin Snow. Junior Joshua Scott would drive in Warren with a double then sophomore Jackson Curtis tied the game with a bases-clearing double. A sacrifice fly from senior Kobe Rogerson would score Curtis and give the Eagles the lead.
Oswego State would regain the lead in the next half inning before the Eagles would continue their offensive output. Trailing 7-4, the Eagles would scrap their way back to tie the game again. Senior Nick Swift with a base hit followed by a double from Warren set up senior Tyler Parke and he drove in Swift on a single. Snow and Scott recorded back-to-back singles as the Eagles leveled the score at seven after four innings of play.
After a scoreless fifth; the Lakers looked to take the lead in the sixth as they had two runners in scoring position but senior Kobe Rogerson was able to throw out a runner at home to keep the game tied then the Eagles regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. Parke reached on a fielder's choice then stole second and he was able to take the lead on a single from Scott for his third RBI of the day.
In the seventh, the Lakers would regain the lead with a two run homer as they Lakers take a 9-8 lead into tomorrow morning.
On Sunday morning, the Lakers outscored the Eagles, 3-2, en route to the regional semifinal victory over Husson.
Senior Cam Graham started the contest before freshman Connor Abood took over as the duo pitched the first three innings. Sophomore Chris Naylor, freshman Ryne Rametta, sophomore Zain Fitzsimmons, and junior Harrison Lendrum all made an appearence in the contest.
