Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Husson University men's lacrosse team dropped 17-5 decision to Greensboro College on the road Tuesday evening, but not before senior Bryan Wagg racked up an astonishing 39 saves.
Greensboro (3-2) benefitted from a 6-0 run to open Tuesday's meeting before senior Gunner McAllister found the back of the net to end the scoring run.
The Pride add one more first quarter goal to take a 7-1 advantage into the second quarter.
Following a Greensboro goal midway through the second quarter, freshman Sean Lyne answered with his first of two goals on the evening, but the Pride aided from three more first half scores to carry an 11-2 edge into the break.
Lyne would score his second goal in the third quarter, but Greensboro 5-1 third quarter run before adding an early fourth quarter score to increase its deficit to 17-3.
Husson managed to add two more goals late as senior Jaden Wells scored, followed by freshman Jordan Steeves, but the damage had been done early as the Eagles were unable to overcome the 17-goal deficit.
McAllister finished with two caused turnovers while sophomore Danny Carter tallied three ground balls.
Wagg put together a performance for the record books racking up a program record 39 saves on 56 shot attempts.
The Eagles return to action on Wednesday when they battle Randolph College at 3:30 p.m.
