Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. - Adelle Foss scored four times including three in-a-row as the Husson University field hockey team picked up a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) sweep of the Valiants on Saturday morning on the campus of Manhattanville College. With the 6-1 win, the Eagles moved to 3-4 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. Manhattanville dropped to 1-13 overall and 0-5 in the NECC.
Foss got the scoring going early for the Eagles, netting her first goal of the game just three minutes into the contenst. Late in the first quarter, the Eagles doubled their lead as Phoebe Joy connected with Teagan Blackie on the eventual game-winning goal.
Contintuing to dominate for the Eagles, Foss found the back of the goal three times in the span of 13 minutes, scoring twice in the second quarter to seal her hat trick and adding another in the third quarter.
The Valiants scored their only goal of the contest when Felicity Williams snuck a shot past Husson netminder Kimmie Goddard midway through the third quarter. Her goal would be cancelled out by the Eagles in the fourth quarter, as P. Joy tallied her first collegiate goal.
Goddard picked up her third win of the season, recording two saves in the victory.
The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, October 12th as they host Colby College. The non-conference matchup is set for 7:00pm.
