Box Score BANGOR, Maine – Teagan Blackie scored her first goal of the season in the second half as the Husson University field hockey team edged Manhattanville by 2-1 at Winkin Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles' second straight win enabled them to improve to 2-4 on the year and 2-1 in the conference. Manhattanville fell to 0-10.
Sophomore Julia Murch gave Husson a 1-0 lead just 9:53 into the game when she scored off a pass from Adelle Foss. It was her third goal of the season.
The Eagles, who outshot the Valiants by a 36-6 margin, maintained their 1-0 lead until early in the second half when Megan Gunther tied the game off a pass from Felicity Williams.
Blackie put Husson back in the lead when she scored at 42:20 as Foss tallied her second assist of the game and her fourth assist of the season.
Goalkeeper Kimmie Goddard made one save in the winning cause. Cat Morgan kept the Valiants in the game by making 21 saves.
The Eagles return to action next Saturday when they visit Manhattanville at 11 a.m.
