Alissa Fallon Becomes Husson's All-time Assists Leader in 20-6 Win Over UMF

WATERVILLE, Maine – Husson University women's lacrosse team was featured in the primetime lights of Smith Field at Thomas College on Wednesday night, but came away with a 20-6 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF).

Jaclyn Langevin scored University of Maine at Farmington's (2-6, 0-4 NAC) first two goals in a five minute stretch midway through the first half, cutting Husson's (3-5, 2-2 NAC) lead down to 5-2 who recieved three goals from Amanda Deshaies and two from Mattie Russell.

The Beavers continued to keep the game close as Sierra Gilley tallied her seventh goal of the season at 14:38 with Carly Raymond dishing her second assist of the evening. Nearly a minute later, Mara Balboni closed the gap to 7-4 with an unassisted goal after Deshaies scored her fourth of the night and Russell added her third.

Raymond got in on the action with about six minutes to go in the opening half with an unassisted goal, trimming Husson's lead to 9-5 after Alissa Fallon scored at the 9:48 mark and Russell's fourth extended the Eagle lead.

The Eagles closed out the first half with four straight goals by Deshaies, Russell, Cassidy Roderick and Samara Oliver as Husson led 13-5 going into the intermisson.

Husson received second half goals from Katelynne Aiken, Denise Lyakhovich, Roderick, Abigail Roberts, Mariah Carrier, Serian Williams and Anna Wolterbeek before Balboni scored a buzzer-beater at the end of the game for UMF's final goal of the contest as Gilley contributed the assist.

Alyssa Arsenault made seven stops between the pipes for UMF and Kaitlin Dolloff made five for the Eagles. With the win, Dolloff is now ranked second all-time for most career wins by a keeper with nine. She needs three wins to become the all-time career leader.

Russell and Deshaies led Husson with five goals apiece and became the 11th and 12th Eagle player in program history with 50 or more career points. Fallon recorded four assists to became Husson's all-time career assists leader with 48. Lauren Coughlin record seven caused turnovers, tying the school record for the most in a single-game.

UMaine-Farmington embarks on a two-game conference road trip starting with Johnson State on Saturday. The Eagles continued NAC play on Saturday when they travel to New England College for a 1:00 p.m. game.
