Box Score NEW LONDON, NH - The Husson University men's basketball team fell in the NAC Championship game to Colby-Sawyer by the score of 86-73 on Saturday afternoon. Husson falls to 20-7 while Colby-Sawyer goes to 19-6.
The Eagles took a 37-30 lead into halftime lead, but the Chargers went on a 14-to-6 run to open the second half and held a 44-43 lead with 14:38 left.
Husson took a 47-46 lead on a pair of Aaron Willis (New York, NY) free throws with 13:40 remaining, but Colby-Sawyer went on a 26-to-9 run and took a 72-56 lead with 5:37 left.
Husson could get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
Trevon Butler (Waterbury, CT) had a game-high 27 points and added nine rebounds while Raheem Anderson (Miramar, FL) added 17 points and six rebounds. Willis finished with 19 points.
Wol Majong and Koang Thok each had 22 points for Colby-Sawyer.
Husson shot 37.3 percent for the contest and 22.6 percent from long range while Colby-Sawyer shot 48.2 percent and 47.1 percent from three-point range. The Chargers held a 44-31 rebounding edge. Husson went 16-17 from the free throw line while Colby-Sawyer was 24-32.
