Men's basketball adds Normand to 2026 recruiting class

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson men's basketball team added a New Hampshire guard to the 2026 recruiting class with a commitment from Ben Normand.

Normand is a 6'3" wing from Contoocook, NH playing for Hopkinton HIgh School. Under the direction of head coach Liam McNicholas the Hawks finished with a 17-3 record advancing to the state DIII semi finals and Normand finished the season averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.6 steals, as he was named First Team All-State New Hampshire DIII.

"Ben is an athletic wing who scores the ball well from all three levels," said head men's basketball coach Warren Caruso. "He has the ability to score and disrupt the game at the defensive end of the floor."

Last summer, Normand traveled to Austria and Italy representing the United States playing for PHD Hoops in the United World Games.

Normand joins Brody Hurd, Hermon High School (Hermon, ME), Meachi Kimble, Tampa Prep (Tampa, FL) in the 2026 recruiting class.

The Eagles finished the season at 16-10 and 2nd in the North Atlantic Conference. Husson won back to back NAC titles in 2024 and 2025 and have 10 NAC titles since 2009.
