Box Score Johnson, VT - Husson handed Johnson State their first conference loss of the season, winning 3-0 at Minaert Field.
Three goals in the first half were all it took to seal the deal for the Lady Eagles. First Year Miranda Drinkwater (Greenville, ME) got the scoring started when she redirected her own rebound drilling it past Johnson Goalkeeper Katja Langmaid at 10:39 into the game. The assist went to sophomore Desir'ee Hamler (Franklin, NJ).
First year Meghan King (West Enfield, ME) scored the next two for the Eagles, with the first coming in the 33rd minute with an assist coming from first year Hannah Clough (Mount Vernon, ME). King's second score came with just :32 seconds remaining in the half when Lauren Marcoux (Shawmut, ME) sent a long pass up the middle of the field that King collected, played through contact, and blasted a shot just under the crossbar giving Langmaid no chance to make the save.
Husson Sophomore Goalkeeper Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) was clutch in goal once again stopping all 4 shots she faced and shutting down the Badgers.
"Our first years stepped up big to drive our offense today, with 3 goals and one assist coming from Meghan, Miranda and Hannah. Jess was great off her line in goal, too," said coach Carly Gettler after the victory. "I'm very pleased with our all-around performance in getting the win."
Husson, who remains undefeated in North Atlantic Conference play (3-0 NAC, 3-8 overall), travels on to face Lyndon State College, on Sunday at 2:30 pm.
