Bangor, ME - The Husson University swimming and diving team dropped a dual meet with the Blue Jays of St. Joseph's (CT) in GNAC action on Saturday in the Webber Pool. Husson won three of the 19 events on the day as the meet finished with a score of 178-90 in favor of the visitors.
Martina Bosse (Brewer, ME) took home both diving events and Megan Call (Levant, ME) won the 50 Yard Breastroke for the Eagles. The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Hali Fleishman (Brewer, ME), Sarah Klopp (Cape Elizabeth, ME), Erin Benner (Morrow, OH) and Casey Pray (Bangor, ME) had an exhillarating day despite coming in second, finally eclipsing the team record they've been flirting with over the last few weeks, setting the new mark at 1:52.11.
For the vistitors, Shannon Dunn (Lichfield, CT) had a marquee day, winning the 50 Yard Backstroke, the 100 Yard Freestyle and swimming the anchor spot of the 200 Yard Medley Relay, and leading off the 200 Yard Freestlye Relay, both which also took first place finishes.
This was the final meet of the season for both teams, although many of the Husson and St. Joseph's competitors will take place in the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships in White River Junction, VT in two weeks.
