Bangor, ME - Ending a 13 meet losing streak against St. Joseph's College of Maine, Husson women's swimming and diving pulled off a fabulous 143-109 win on Saturday and got their first 2-0 start in years.

Sophomore Erin Benner (Morrow, OH) qualified for New Englands in three events, swimming 32.31 in the 50 back, 1:10.72 in the 100 back, and 1:12.61 in the 100 IM, also winning all three events for the Eagles. In an exciting come-from-behind victory in the 100 breast, senior Megan Call (Levant, ME) also swam a New England qualifying time, finishing in 1:21.20 and beating Mickeyla Murphy from St. Joseph's by .74 hundreths of a second.

Sophomore Sarah Klopp (Cape Elizabeth, ME) had an exciting finish of her own in the 50 yard freestyale, finishing 28.79 just ahead of Kiana Camire of St. Joseph's, who swam a 28.85 for second. Klopp also picked up second place for the Eagles in the 100 yard free. Sophomore Patience Wilson (Brewer, ME) won the 100 fly.

In the distance events, first year Katrina Aman (Lakeville, MA) won both the 500 and 1,000 free. Diver Martina Bosse (Brewer, ME) improved upon her strong performance from last meet by 10 points, scoring a 164.75 in the 11 dive format.

Coach Butch Babin was very pleased with the team's win, stating, "This was a great win for the Husson University Women's Swimming and Diving program. The women did a fantastic job of focusing throughout all their events, and our depth this year really came through in this meet."

The Eagles will travel to the University of New England on November 17 to take on the Nor'easters in a 1:00 PM meet.
