STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's rolled to a 160-49 victory over Husson University in women's swimming action at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon. The Monks won all 13 events in the head to head competition.
Hali Fleishman (Brewer, ME) and Megan Call (Levant, ME) each put up some solid times to hang with the Monks and put the Eagles on the board. Fleishman finished 2nd in the 50 yard freestyle as well as in the 100 yard IM. She also came in 3rd in the 50 yard backstroke. Call finished 2nd in 50 and 100 yard breaststroke. Both races were closely contested coming down to partial seconds. Casey Pray (Bangor, ME) came in 2nd beating four other swimmers in the 100 yard freestyle.
These results were not enough as St. Josephs College of Maine managed to out touch the Eagle with some impressive finishes, leading the Monks to the 160-49 win.
Husson will return home to familiar waters on Saturday when they host Western New England University at 12:00 pm at the Webber Pool in Newman Gymnasium.
