Before the start of the game, the Husson Eagles set the tone by honoring last year's 2008-2009 NAC champions with the presentation of their championship rings.  Husson maintained the momentum generated by their ring ceremony, getting off to an early lead.

Husson and Green Mountain traded the lead multiple times throughout the first half but Husson pulled away in the final minutes of the half to secure a 45-35 point lead.

MacKenzie contributed 15 points in the first half, followed by Brock Bradford (Sr., Kenduskeag, ME) with 11.  For Green Mountain, Carmo netted 12 points followed by Trent Morgan (Jr., Streetsboro, OH) with 8.

Husson's MacKenzie opened the second half with a layup bringing the score to 47-35.  Husson steadily pulled away from Green Mountain in the second half, ending the game with a 98-68 victory.

Carmo led Green Mountain with an impressive 32 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Morgan with 16 points.  For the Eagles, Bradford tallied 20 points followed by MacKenzie with 19 points.  Jones netted 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

This evening, the Husson University men's basketball team held their second annual "Think Pink" game sponsored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).   During the month of February, Pink Zone events are taking place across the country to raise breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.  The 2009 campaign raised over $1.3 million, reached over 912,000 fans, and unified more than 1,600 participating teams and organizations.  The WBCA's charity of choice is the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund®, in partnership with The V Foundation and funds raised at this evening's games will be donated accordingly.

The Eagles round out their regular season tomorrow at home against Castleton.  Game time is set for 4:00.  Green Mountain travels to Maine Maritime and will play at 4:00
