In his sixteenth year as head coach, Coach Warren Caruso has
entered an elite coaching class with his 300th
win. Coach Caruso's overall record of 300-143 is a testament
to his devotion to Husson University, first as a former Husson
basketball player and now as a storied head coach. He has guided
the program to six conference championships and trips to the NAIA
National Tournament including three straight trips in 2000, 2001,
and 2002. Most recently in the 2008-09 season, Coach Caruso
led the Eagles to their first North Atlantic Conference
Championship and trip to the NCAA Division III National
Tournament. With his team off to a 6-4 start to the 2009-2010
season, many more wins are on the horizon for Coach Caruso and his
Eagles.
" Three hundred wins is an admirable achievement. Coach Caruso
has longevity, dedication and passion for basketball and there
have been many exciting moments in Newman Gymnasium. Last year's
culminating NAC tournament championship and our first men's
basketball trip to the NCAA tourney was a tremendous
accomplishment" stated Director of Athletics Cindy Connelley.
The Eagles return to action with their home NAC conference
opener on January 15 against Maine Maritime. Game time is set
for 5:30 PM.
