Box Score Bangor, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team
cruised to a 7-0 victory over Thomas College in the NAC opener for
both teams at John Boucher Field. Megan Lajoie (Jr., Van
Buren, ME) scored 2 goals and assisted on another to help the
Eagles to the win.
Lajoie factored in all three first half goals. Her first
goal came at the 18:23 mark unassisted. Kylan Smith (Sr.,
Presque Isle, ME) found Lajoie on a cross putting the Eagles up 2-0
with less than five minutes in the half. Bradford made it 3-0
at halftime off a pass from Lajoie.
Husson offense continued in the second half scoring four more
goals. Smith and Bradford both scored along with Megan
Clement (Jr., Brunswick, ME) and Amanda Gifford (So., Lee,
ME). Katelyn Cloutier (So., Groventon, NH) registered
two assists and Kayleigh Piccirillo (Fy., Walpole, NH) had one
assist in the second half.
Smith finished with a goal and an assist while Bradford had two
goals on the day. Rozlyn Petersen (Jr., Newport, ME) made one
save on the only shot she faced.
Thomas goalie Anika Powers (Fy., Leeds, ME) came up with 19
saves against 34 shots.
Husson moves to 5-2 (1-0 NAC) while Thomas drops to 1-4-1 (0-1
NAC).
Husson travels to Wheaton College on Sunday, September 27 at
3:00 pm. Thomas will host U. Maine Augusta on Monday,
September 21 at 4:00 pm.
