Box Score Bangor, Maine – Mount Ida topped Husson University 18-4 in men's lacrosse at the Boucher Field. Matthew Savage (So, Peabody, MA) scored four goals to pace the Mustangs.
Mustangs scored four unanswered goals in the 1st quarter to lead 5-1 after the first period. The Eagles played tough in the NAC battle but Mount Ida showed why they have won five straight conference titles. Nine different Mustangs scored on their way to the win.
Zach Jacobson (Fy, Shoreview, MN) and Christopher Prophete (Sr, Waltham, MA) each had three goals while Nate Prince (So, West Gardiner, ME) and Paul Battipaglia (So, Clinton, CT) chipped in two goals apiece. Goalie James McAllister (Fy, Smithfield, RI) made 18 saves .
The Eagles received goals from Anthony Diaz (Fy, Brunswick, ME), Chris Lloyd (Fy, Oxford, ME), Ben Landry (Fy, Lewiston, ME) and Sam Smith (Fy, Rockport, ME). Matt Linnell (Fy, Albion, ME) had 23 saves.
Husson falls to 4-6 and 3-4 in NAC while Mount Ida is now 7-6 and 5-1 in the NAC.
Both teams next play on Saturday, April 18th as Husson travels to Castleton for a 12:00 noon start and Mount Ida travels to Thomas for a 3:00 pm start.
