WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference named its weekly award winners for baseball on Monday and Husson University baseball junior Matt Holmes was selected as player of the week.
Holmes earned his third player of the week award of the season after he continued to light it up at the plate for Husson in his three games this past week, as the junior slugger tallied eight hits in 14 total at-bats. Of those eight hits, Holmes posted three doubles and two home runs, while driving in 10 runs, to extend his NAC-leading total to 38 RBIs. The lefty-swinger also recorded six runs scored and one intentional walk in his dominant week of hitting.
Husson is back in action tomorrow when it hosts Bowdoin College for a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
