EAST HAVEN, Conn — The Husson University cheer team competed at the New England Cheerleading Association New England Collegiate Championship on Saturday in East Haven, Connecticut.
The Eagles took home third-place in the competition.
"To say we are thrilled with this team's resilience would be an understatement," said head cheer and dance coach
Megan Patterson '20. "This season, the HU Cheer Team has pushed through significant adversity, showing up to the competition this weekend with unwavering Eagle Pride."
"We are incredibly impressed by how far these athletes have come, but more importantly, we are honored to celebrate a historic first: In the history of Husson University Cheer, no team has ever 'Hit Zero' at competition—until now," said Patterson. "Hitting a routine with absolutely no deductions is a massive achievement for any collegiate athlete. It is a direct reflection of the tireless effort, discipline, and heart this team has poured into the program. We are so proud of this milestone and can't wait to show the world the great things we still have in the works."
