Men's basketball picks up commitment from Hurd

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's basketball program received a commitment from 6'1" guard Brody Hurd from Hermon, Maine, as announced on Tuesday. 

Hurd was a four-year starter at Hermon for head coach Mark Reed. Hermon won the Big East Conference this year with a 16-2 record earning the #2 seed in the Class B Northern Maine Tournament.  This past summer, he played AAU for the Maine Lumberjacks for coach Dwayne Savage. 

"Brody comes from a successful program and has been well coached over the past four years" states Head Men's Basketball Coach Warren Caruso.  "He has a very good mid-range game and plays with a high IQ, we look forward to seeing Brody develop". 

Hurd averaged 11.5 points and four rebounds over his career at Hermon. He's been named to the 2026 McDonald's All Star game and has twice been named to the Big East All-Conference Team, as well as being named to the Big East All-Defensive Team and to the All-Academic Team.  

Hurd is a high honors student and is a member of the National Honor Society and also serves as a Student Ambassador.  

Hurd joins Meachi Kimble from Tampa Prep (Tampa, FL) in the 2026 recruiting class.  

The Eagles finished the season at 16-10 and 2nd in the North Atlantic Conference and won back to back NAC titles in 2024 and 2025 with 10 NAC titles since 2009.
