Women’s track & field takes part in Mule Tune-Up

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Husson University women's track & field team turned in a productive performance at the Mule Tune-Up on Saturday at Colby College, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay and multiple top-six efforts across the sprints and field events.

Husson's top result on the track came in the 4x400, where the quartet of freshmen Lucinda Carroll, Nina Huber and JaLynn Williams and sophomore Molly Dearborn won the event in 4:32.31, edging Thomas College (4:33.05).

In finals action on the track, Williams posted a seventh-place finish in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 27.58, while Dearborn finished 13th in 28.81. Senior Niamiah Perry followed in 15th at 28.94, and junior Laney King rounded out Husson's 200-meter finalists with a time of 31.94, after King set a personal-best in the prelims of the 60-meter.

Husson also had finalists in the middle distances. Huber placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:47.94.

On the distance side, the Eagles had three athletes compete in the mile, led by Carroll, who finished sixth in 5:52.23, which set a new personal-best. Freshman Brooke Martin placed 10th in 6:31.25, while also setting a new personal-best and junior Abby Hunt took 12th in 6:53.16.

In the field events, freshman Mya Madden delivered one of Husson's top performances, tying for third in the high jump after clearing 1.43m. In the pole vault, senior Lexi Freeman also finished third, posting a clearance of 2.90m.

In the horizontal jumps, sophomore Natasha Monreal earned a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.18m, while Williams finished ninth at 5.01m. Monreal also competed in the triple jump, placing sixth with a best of 10.54m, and sophomore Brianna Andrews added a 13th-place finish in the event at 9.24m.

In the throws, sophomore Paige Chesbro led Husson in the shot put, placing eighth with a personal-best mark of 9.64m. Senior Megan Fletcher finished 11th at 9.39m, with freshman Kallie Bartley taking 15th (8.08m), sophomore Danlen Espenscheid 18th (7.69m) with a personal-best, senior Allyson Dearborn 19th(7.60m) and junior Abbie Conlogue 22nd (6.82m). In the weight throw, Fletcher paced the Eagles with a sixth-place finish at 12.51m, while Chesbro placed 10th (10.61m) and Conlogue finished 18th (7.81m).

Husson returns to action for the conclusion of its 2026 indoor season on Saturday with the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Track at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.
