BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University softball program has announced its schedule for the 2026 season, highlighted by an extensive spring trip to Florida, a challenging nonconference slate, and a full schedule of North Atlantic Conference play, in addition to 10 games at the Robert & Frances O'Keefe Softball Field.
Husson will be looking to defend its NAC crown for an eighth-consecutive season under third-year head coach Rick Roberts.
"There's a lot of excitement around this season," said Roberts. "The nine first-years have brought great energy into the program, and they're blending well with our returning leaders. We're looking forward to the challenge of the NAC and competing for our eighth-straight conference championship."
The Eagles open the season in Winter Haven and Bartow, Florida, competing in The Spring Games from March 6–13. Husson will play 14 games over eight days, facing a nationally diverse field that includes Marian University, Norwich University, Kean University, Gordon College, DeSales University, Wittenberg University, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, Dominican University (Ill.), Albertus Magnus College, Earlham College, Carroll University, Case Western Reserve University, and nationally ranked No. 14 Belhaven University and No. 12 Moravian University.
Husson returns to New England on March 17 with a nonconference doubleheader at Colby College before resuming action in April with road doubleheaders at Bates College and the University of New England. The Eagles will be looking to extend win streaks against all three in-state foes, as they have won four-straight against Colby and Bates and six-straight against UNE.
The Eagles will also face Division I-foe the University of Maine in Orono on April 15 as part of a competitive midweek matchup in the first matchup between the schools since 2014.
North Atlantic Conference play begins at home on April 11, when Husson hosts Vermont State University Johnson for a doubleheader at O'Keefe Softball Field. The Eagles follow with another home NAC twinbill against Vermont State University Lyndon on April 12 before continuing conference play against the University of Maine at Farmington, in addition to an out of conference matchup with the University of Southern Maine later in the month.
The Eagles will close the conference road slate with NAC doubleheaders at Thomas College, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Delhi, and the University of Maine at Presque Isle before returning home to wrap up the regular season.
Senior Day is scheduled for May 2, as Husson hosts Lesley University in a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader to conclude the regular-season schedule.
The NAC tournament is scheduled for May 7-9 at the site of the top-seed with the top six overall seeds qualifying for the tournament.
