Women’s lacrosse ready to defend conference crown with 2026 schedule announcement

| By:

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's lacrosse program has released its schedule for the 2026 season, featuring an early start at home, a spring break trip to South Carolina, and a competitive slate of six North Atlantic Conference matchups.

Husson will be looking to defend its first-ever NAC championship after a thrilling 12-11 victory over Maine Maritime Academy last season under fourth-year head coach Amanda Deshaies '18, '20G.

"We're really excited about our 2026 schedule," said Deshaies. "We've built a schedule that will push our group, especially with some strong out-of-conference matchups that will help us grow and be ready for the postseason. After winning the North Atlantic Conference last year, our expectation is to compete at a championship level again. We have a driven team that understands the standard, and we're eager to see how we stack up against some excellent programs outside our conference as well."

The Eagles open the season at home on February 18, welcoming the University of New England to John P. Boucher Field, as Husson will be looking for its first-ever win against UNE in the first matchup between the programs since 2019.

Husson remains in Bangor for its second game of the year on February 22, hosting Dean College, before heading to the Boston area for road contests at UMass Boston and Suffolk on February 28 and March 1 in a pair of first-time opponents for the Eagles.

Husson continues nonconference play on March 3 with a road matchup at the University of Southern Maine before traveling south for its annual spring break trip. The Eagles will face Cornell College and Western New England University on March 10 and March 12 in Hilton Head, South Carolina, providing valuable early-season competition against regional opponents, while also marking the first matchup against Cornell.

The Eagles return to New England to face Massachusetts Maritime Academy on March 21 before opening conference play on March 28, when Thomas College visits Bangor for Husson's NAC opener. Conference action continues at home on March 31 against Maine Maritime Academy in a rematch of last year's conference championship game.

Senior Day is scheduled for April 11, as Husson hosts the University of Maine at Farmington at John P. Boucher Field. The Eagles then close out the regular season with conference road games at Maine Maritime Academy on April 18, at Farmington on April 21, and at Thomas College on April 25.

The North Atlantic Conference championship game is scheduled for May 2 and will be between the top two teams in the conference standings.
