BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's swimming & diving team earned a 151–127 victory over Gordon College on Saturday afternoon at Webber Pool, powered by multiple event wins and consistent podium finishes.
Husson opened the meet with two scoring relays in the 200-yard medley. The relay team of freshman Emily Kennard, junior Logan Williams, and sophomores Morgan Collins and Mariah Muskavitch finished second in 2:04.07, while the team of freshmen Sara Harriman, Izzie Enos and Abbey Donato and junior Olivia Underwood placed third in 2:06.37.
In the 1,000-yard freestyle, sophomore Gabrielle Hoffmann placed second with a time of 12:38.10, while junior Mia Winslow finished fourth in 13:14.48. Husson dominated the 200 freestyle, sweeping the top three spots as freshman Brooklyn Henderson won in 2:14.77, Donato placed second in 2:15.52, and Collins finished third in 2:20.99.
Husson scored twice in the 100 backstroke, with Underwood placing second in 1:09.39 and Muskavitch finishing third in 1:14.77. The Eagles added three more scorers in the 100 breaststroke, as Williams touched at 1:21.03 for second-place, while Enos was just over one second behind at 1:22.41 for third-place and freshman Gracie Schiller recorded a time of 1:34.10 to place fifth.
Harriman added another runner-up result in the 200 butterfly, touching in 2:28.16, while Mackenzie Gray placed fourth in 3:07.01.
The Eagles picked up a win in the 50 freestyle behind Kennard, who finished first in 26.86, while two other Eagles scored, as Hoffmann finished fourth at 30.64 and junior Julia Brown touched at 30.99 for fifth-place. Kennard later added another victory in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.78, while Henderson finished second in 1:00.89 and Brown also scored with a time of 1:09.33.
In diving, Riley Mahoney delivered nine points in both events for Husson by winning the 1-meter board with final scores of 221.35 and 126.15.
Husson continued to score late in the meet as Winslow captured first place in the 200 backstroke in 2:37.96, followed by Gray in third (2:46.57) and senior Maggie Poulin in fifth (2:55.52). In the 200 breaststroke, Enos placed second in 3:00.40, with Williams finishing third in 3:02.87, and Hoffmann fourth in 3:08.49.
Harriman added a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:42.79, while Donato and Muskavitch placed third (6:05.45) and fourth (6:17.20), respectively. Husson rounded out individual events with Collins placing second (1:10.91), Henderson third (1:11.44) and Winslow fourth (1:21.94) in the 100 butterfly.
Husson scored twice in the 400 IM, as Under placed second with a time of 5:43.81 and Schiller recorded a time of 6:20.13 to place fifth.
The Eagles closed the meet on a high note, winning the 400-yard freestyle relay as Harriman, Muskavitch, Kennard, and Underwood touched first in 4:01.81, securing the team victory, while the team of Henderson, Winslow, Collins and Donato placed third to secure an additional two points.
The Eagles head to Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday to renew a long-standing rivalry with the Mariners, with the dual-meet beginning at 12 p.m.
