RANDOLPH, Vt. – The Husson University women's cross country team got its season underway on Saturday with the Silloway Vermont State Maple Syrup Challenge, which was hosted by Vermont State University Randolph.
Husson took fourth-place out of the seven-team field, with Middlebury College securing the win as a team, securing the top seven individual spots.
Senior Grace Bedore led the Eagles individually, clocking a time of 21:34.93 to place 10th in the race, while sophomore Molly Dearborn secured a time of 24:24.95.
Freshman Nina Huber finished two spots behind Dearborn with a time of 24:48.69, in addition to classmate Brooke Martin, who crossed the finish line at 24:51.51.
Junior Abby Hunt ended her run with the clock at 25:53.05, while senior Lexi Freeman rounded out the field for the Eagles with a time of 27:41.12.
Husson returns to the course on Sept. 20 for the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Bowdoin College.
