HENNIKER, N.H. – The Husson University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference matchup with New England College on Friday evening by a score of 3-0 at Bridges Gym.
Husson (0-4) and NEC (1-4) traded points early on in set one, with the score set at 6-5 in favor of the Pilgrims, before they broke open the set with seven-consecutive points to take a 13-5 lead.
The Eagles were unable to recover and dropped the opening set 25-12, before dropping a back-and-forth second set by a score of 25-20.
Husson looked primed to take set number three, holding a lead of 20-14 in the set, but NEC answered with nine of the next 12 points to tie the set up at 23, before scoring the final three points of the set after the Eagles took a 24-23 edge.
Sophomore Mikayla Gray led the Eagles with seven kills, while also recording just two attack errors in 20 total attacks.
Freshman Peyton Hooker totaled 20 assists, in addition to three service aces and three digs, while senior Leah Peloquin scooped up 10 digs.
Husson returns to action tomorrow with a tri-match at the University of Southern Maine, which features matchups against Salve Regina University at 2 p.m. and Southern Maine at 4 p.m.
