BEVERLY, Mass. – The Conference of New England released its weekly awards for football on Monday and Husson University football sophomore JT Wright was named defensive player of the week.
Wright was everywhere for the Husson defense on Saturday against Worcester Polytechnic Institute, totaling 17 tackles in the non-conference matchup. The linebacker recorded six solo tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in the game and currently leads the CNE in total tackles and assisted tackles, in addition to being second in solo tackles.
The Eagles are back in action at home on Saturday when they open CNE play with the defending conference champions, Endicott College, at 1 p.m.
