ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Husson University softball team beat Thomas College 10-1 in six innings on Saturday at SUNY Oneonta to advance to the North Atlantic Conference Championship Game on Sunday.
Husson (26-10) and Thomas (17-19) played two scoreless innings before the Eagles bats caught fire in the third inning scoring five runs. Senior
Bulla McCabe doubled in two runs to begin the inning and graduate student
Julia Gregoire singled in McCabe for a 3-0 edge.

Lexi Volinsky single in two runs to conclude the Eagles second-inning scoring and a 5-0 advantage.
McCabe added another RBI in the four on a sacrifice flyout, but the Terriers got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with an unearned run to pull within 6-1.
However, Gregoire doubled in a run in the sixth to run the lead to 7-1 and Volinsky doubled in two more runs to extend the Eagles advantage to 9-1. Sophomore
Lyndsee Reed singled in the Eagles final run to end the game in the sixth inning and advance to Sunday's championship.

Morgan Tainter, Volinsky and Reed all posted two hit games for Husson, while junior
Lydia Rice and McCabe added hits to give Husson 14 for the game.
Volinsky finished with four RBIs on the day, while McCabe added three and Gregoire posted two.

Sky Johnson allowed only four hits and one unearned run over six innings, tallying five strikeouts.
Husson will battle host SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday at 1 p.m. looking to win its seventh-straight conference championship.
