WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference unveiled its weekly awards for baseball on Monday afternoon and Husson University senior Matt Wallingford and sophomore Matt Holmes picked up two honors.

Holmes was named player of the week after he helped lead the Eagles to a 4-1 week by hitting .588 (10-17) with six runs, two doubles, a triple, two home runs and eight RBI in the five contests. He kicked off the week by going 3-for-5 with two runs, a double, a homer and two RBI in a loss to Southern Maine on Monday and was 7-for-12 with four runs, a three-bagger, a long ball and six RBI in a four-game sweep of UMaine-Presque Isle over the weekend.

Wallingford was selected as pitcher of the week and was lights-out on the mound for the Eagles during his only start last week. Wallingford pitched six, one-hit innings against UMaine-Presque Isle, not allowing a walk and striking out 10 batters.

The Eagles are back in action tonight against Bowdoin College in Brunswick with first-pitch set for 6 p.m.
