BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University softball team picked up a pair of non-conference home wins over Plymouth State University on Thursday, pitching back-to-back shutouts and clubbing four homeruns en route to 6-0 and 12-0 wins.
Husson (13-9) jumped on Plymouth State (16-9) in Thursday's opener, scoring two runs in the first inning, senior
Bulla McCabe clubbed an RBI double to left center and senior
Tori Exel singled up the middle for a 2-0 edge.
Sophomore
Camryn King connected on her second home run of the season in the third, a towering shot over the left-field scoreboard for a 3-0 advantage and senior
Kiara McLeod punched home a two-RBI single to right center for a commanding 5-0 lead.
Husson added another run in the fourth inning while sophomore
Sierra Yates, who got the game-one start in the circle, dominated in four innings, allowing just one hit, walking two and striking out three batters to earn the win.
Sophomore
Ana Lang picked up the save, tossing the final three innings, allowing just one hit and striking out seven batters.
Exel finished an impressive 3-4 at the plate, while McLeod and King each added two hits.
In the doubleheader finale, the Eagles extended their win streak to seven-straight decision, clubbing 12 hits for 12 runs and winning 12-0 in five innings.
Husson wasted little time in the finale, scoring six runs in the opening frame for a commanding advantage for graduate student

Senior
Tatyanna Biamby drove in the Eagles first run, while back-to-back homeruns by McCabe — a two-run shot down the left-field line — and Exel who homered to left for the fourth run.
Sophomore
Lyndsee Reed singled to left field, scoring two Husson runners to concluded the opening inning.
McCabe continued her strong afternoon with another RBI in the second and junior
Tayler Watterson plated the eighth Husson run on a sacrifice flyout to center.
Biamby added her second RBI of the game in the third on a sacrifice flyout, while Exel made history tying the single-game homerun record with her second of the game — a three-run shot to left field — that put Husson up 12-0.
Johnson earned the win, pitching three scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out five, while sophomore
Jazmin Johnson pitched the final two innings, giving up two hits and striking out three.
Husson limited PSU to just seven hits over the two games and racked up 18 hitters.
Exel finished 3-3 in the second game with four RBIs, racking up a 6-7 day at the plate, while McCabe, Biamby, King and Reed all tallied two hits apiece.
Husson opens North Atlantic Conference play on Friday when it hosts Thomas College for a doubleheader beginning at 3 and 5 p.m.
