WILMINGTON, N.C. — Senior
Ava Dowling headlined the Husson University women's outdoor track & field showing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawk Invitational by winning the 1,500 meters.
Freshman
Molly Dearborn opened the Eagles day with a personal-best performance in the 200 meters, clocking a 28.03.
Dowling posted a fifth-place performance in the 800 meters, finishing with a time of 2:31.11, while sophomore
Abby Hunt finished with a PR time of 2:56.81 in the event.
Dowling added her second top-five finish on the day in the 1,500 meters, winning the event with a mark of 5:02.46, while junior Grace Before clocked a 5:32.07 to finish third.
Freshmen
Brooke Chase and
Natasha Monreal, along with junior
Niamiah Perry Dearborn finished sixth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 52.89.
Monreal added a 10th-place finish in the long jump, clearing 5.06 meters, while Chase jumped 4.55 meters to set a new PR in the event.
Monreal and Chase finished seventh and eighth, respectively in the triple jump, posting marks of 10.38 and 10.13 meters.
Junior
Megan Fletcher PR'd in the discus throw, throwing 32.00 meters, while senior
Aaralyn Scroggins also posted a PR with a throw of 28.62 meters.
The Eagles compete in the Day 1 of the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. and hosted by Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
