BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's lacrosse team dropped a tightly contested 11-10 decision to Maine Maritime Academy at home in North Atlantic Conference action on Thursday.

MMA managed to tie the game at the 6:52 mark in the first quarter and took the lead with its third goal a minute later.
The Eagles scored with 4:00 minutes remaining in the opening quarter to even the game 3-3 heading into the second quarter off a goal from junior

Both the Mariners and Eagles traded goals over the opening five minutes of the second quarter with MMA coming away with a 5-4 advantage. However, Husson netted back-to-back goals to take a 6-5 edge before the Maine Maritime tied the game 6-6 with 6:25 remaining. Gardner, Martinez and Boehmcke all scored for the Eagles.

Coming out of the half, MMA netted two goals over the first 10 minutes of the third quarter to cut the deficit to 9-8 before Boehmcke recorded a hat trick with her third goal from Baker to push the lead to 10-8.
However, a late card in the third quarter gave MMA a crucial woman-up opportunity that the Mariners converted on to pull within 10-9.
Thursday's conference showdown, came down to a deciding fourth quarter with MMA tying the game with 10:52 remaining and scoring the eventual game-winning goal with 8:48 to come away with the tightly contest 11-10 decision.
Both Husson and MMA combined for 17 cards and 45 fouls, senior
Jordyn Lengle finished with a game-high seven draw controls and four ground balls.
Boehmcke added a game-high four caused turnovers, while Lengle added two. Senior
Emma Beegz stood tall in cage for the Eagles recording 10 saves on the night.
