BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's lacrosse team rolled by Vermont State University Lyndon 25-1 on Saturday in its North Atlantic Conference opener
Husson (2-4, 1-0 NAC) wasted no time getting on the board in Saturday's conference opener with three goals in the first 1:09 seconds to take an early 3-0 edge.
Junior
Gracie Gardner opened the Eagles scoring with a goal from senior
Natalie Whitten.
Whitten assisted junior
Averi Baker on the Eagles second goal, while Gardner returned the favor to Whitten to make it 3-0.
Junior
Maddy Benoit found the back of the net from freshman
Kate Boehmcke for a 4-0 edge, while Boehmcke got in the scoring column with Whitten's third assist for a 5-0 advantage.
Husson closed out the first quarter with eight more goals to control a 13-0 advantage. Junior

Sarah Luiz along with Benoit and sophomore
Riley Maynard all scored for the Eagles over the final 10 minutes.
Gardner opened the second quarter with her third goal of the game before Lyndon (0-2, 0-1 NAC) got on the board with its lone goal of the game.

Emma Beegz recorded goals of the final minutes of the second quarter to take a commanding 16-1 lead heading in to the halftime break.
The Eagles scored five more goals in the third quarter as junior
Jordyn Lengle, Whitten, junior
Madison Lower, sophomore Madi McSweeny and sophomore Jory Body all tallied goals to extend Husson's led to 21-1.
Freshmen
Caleigh Crocker and
Finley Pomerleau scored to begin the fourth quarter for the Eagles, while senior's
Sydney Heth and
Montanna Carrier got in the scoring column over the final six minutes.
Gardner finished with three goals and two assists, while Whitten added two goals and five assists. Additionally, Sullivan notched her first collegiate hat trick in the win.
Benoit impressed on the draw control for the Eagles, racking up 10 on the after to go along with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Lengle led all players with seven ground balls for the game, adding four caused turnovers, matching Crocker's game-high four caused turnovers.
Husson finished the match with 25 caused turnovers, 19 draw controls, 50 shot attempts and 41 ground balls.
The Eagles will now face conference rival Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
